Use
Use this when reading a table for the first time.
Variable Types
- Numeric: a measured or counted number.
- Categorical: names or groups.
- Ordinal: ordered categories where gaps may not be equal.
- Count: number of events.
- Rate: events divided by exposure or population.
- Proportion: part divided by whole.
- Date or time: values tied to sequence or duration.
Check
For each variable, ask what was measured, how it was measured, who or what it describes, and what errors may exist.
