Module 11 Summary

What this module established

The deliverable of this course is a document, and its test is mechanical: could a competent stranger build from it without asking you a question? Every field carries a value, the evaluation set is built from kinds rather than questions, and the failures you accept are named with a mitigation and a residual risk each.

Carry forward

• The scope is written first. Written afterwards it describes what you built and rules nothing out.
• The id format has to survive re-indexing, or every citation issued before a rebuild resolves to nothing.
• A system presented as having no known failure modes reads to an experienced reviewer as an analysis that was not done.

Before moving on

You have finished when someone else has read the brief, you have written down every question they had to ask, and the brief has been revised so those questions no longer arise.
