Practice: Package Context for One Safe Work Scenario
Unit ID: PAW-M03-U05 Estimated active time: 25-30 minutes
What you are producing
One filled context package for a real task of your own, using only public, fictional, or substituted information.
This is the first portfolio artefact of the course. Modules 10 and 12 build on it.
Choose the scenario
Pick something you actually repeat: a weekly update, a reply to a common question, a summary you write every month.
Avoid anything where the sensitive content cannot be substituted. If in doubt, use a fictional version of a real task — the structure is what you are practising.
Fill the package
CONTEXT PACKAGE — (task name)
Audience:
Situation:
Known facts (do not change or add to):
Constraints:
Sensitivity (what must not be shared or invented):
Decision the reader makes after reading:
Then write the prompt underneath, drawing only on what the package contains.
Check it before you use it
Run these four checks:
- Every fact in the prompt appears in the package, and every package fact earns its place.
- Nothing sensitive survived, and anything substituted is marked.
- Every constraint could be verified by a reader in ten seconds.
- The prompt tells the tool what to do when something is missing.
Compare against a bare prompt
Run the same task twice: once with your one-sentence version, once with the package.
Note the differences in the output. Note also how long each took to write. The package usually takes longer to write once and much less time over five uses.
What to keep
Save the filled package, the prompt, and one line on what you would change next time.
You are building a library. Module 9 turns these into reusable patterns and Module 12 packages one as a template.
