Practice: Rewrite One Prompt for Three Audiences

Unit ID: PAW-M04-U05 Estimated active time: 25-30 minutes

What you are producing

One task, three audience lines, three outputs, and a note on what changed and what did not.

Choose a task with one set of facts

Pick something where the underlying content is fixed — a policy change, a result, a process update.

Fixed facts are what make the comparison meaningful. If the content changes too, you cannot tell what the audience line did.

Write three audience lines

AUDIENCE COMPARISON

           Audience A Audience B Audience C
Who
Knows
Does not know
Reads it
Acts

Choose three genuinely different readers: someone senior and short of time, someone affected by the decision, and someone who has to carry it out.

Generate and compare

Run the same facts through all three audience lines.

Then mark, sentence by sentence:

The check that matters

Look at the "Only here" sentences for the senior audience and the affected audience.

If something appears for one and not the other, decide deliberately whether that is appropriate or whether it is the beginning of two versions of the truth.

What to keep

Save the three audience lines and the marked comparison.

The "Same" sentences are the core of a reusable pattern, which is what Module 9 builds.
