Module 07 Activity

Purpose

Deliberate practice at the repair loop, one problem at a time. The honest question at the end is whether a better first prompt would have been faster.

Steps

1. Start from a genuinely weak output. Do not fix the first prompt.
2. Triage the problems into wrong facts, wrong shape, and wrong judgement.
3. Fix facts first, then shape, then judgement — one follow-up each.
4. Record what each follow-up changed.
5. Time the whole repair.
6. Decide what would have gone into a better first prompt.

Evidence to hand in

• The original request and its output.
• The triage.
• Three follow-ups with what each changed.
• The total time, and the answer to the faster-first-prompt question.
• The lines you would promote into the saved prompt.

Review checklist

• Each follow-up named what was wrong, not what you wanted.
• Only one thing was fixed per follow-up.
• Facts were fixed before shape.
• The promoted lines have been added to the saved prompt.
