Module 10 Activity

Purpose

The whole process, not the prompt: input, gate, generation, review, decision, revision, approval, record. Most failures live outside the prompt, and a map is what makes them visible.

Steps

1. Map the current state first, including the annoying parts and the step that only works because one person knows something.
2. Mark every step mechanical or judgement.
3. Identify one step to delete and one to assist, and check they are not the same step.
4. Specify the assisted step fully, including what happens when it fails.
5. Name the reviewer and the approver as actual people.
6. Run the whole workflow once on a real instance, timing each step.

Evidence to hand in

• The current-state map with times.
• The mechanical/judgement marking.
• The assisted-step specification with its failure path.
• The eight-step workflow map with owners.
• Timings from the real run, and where they differed from the map.

Review checklist

• Every step has an owner.
• Judgement steps are not assisted.
• The assisted step has a manual path.
• The reviewer is not the person who wrote the prompt.
• The workflow was run once for real, not only designed.
