Module 11 Activity

Purpose

Privacy gate, review gate and stop conditions attached to a real workflow, then tested against an actual case. A gate that has not been walked through is a guess.

Steps

1. Choose your riskiest workflow, not your most frequent.
2. Add the privacy gate and walk one real case through all four of its steps.
3. Set the review level from the consequence table, and be honest about which row applies.
4. Write three to seven stop conditions, each with an alternative route.
5. Name the approver and what they are confirming.
6. Time each gate, and simplify anything that takes over a minute.

Evidence to hand in

• The gated workflow with owners.
• The privacy gate walk-through, including anything it stopped.
• The stop conditions with routes.
• Gate timings.
• The manual path, in two sentences.

Review checklist

• Every stop condition has an alternative route.
• The privacy gate includes the re-identification step.
• Each gate can be answered in under a minute.
• A colleague would reach the same decision at each gate.
• The gates were tested on a real case, not imagined.
