Prompting and AI Workflow Design

Choose One Repeated Task

Unit ID: PAW-M12-U00 Estimated active time: 20-25 minutes

What the capstone is

One task of yours, taken all the way: a filled canvas, a working prompt, an evaluation loop, gates, and a packaged template someone else could pick up.

Everything in the course has been building one piece of it.

Choosing well matters more than working hard

The wrong task makes the capstone an exercise. The right one leaves you with something you use next week.

Choose on three grounds: you do it at least monthly, it has a real reader, and its content can pass the privacy gate.

The selection sheet

TASK SELECTION

Candidate task:
How often: (monthly or more?)
Who reads the output:
What they do with it:
Consequence if it is wrong:
Can the content pass the privacy gate? yes / substituted / no
Which pattern family:
Is any step judgement rather than mechanical? (these stay human)
How long it takes today:
What annoys me about it:

Fill it for two or three candidates. The comparison usually makes the choice obvious.

Avoid three kinds of task

Write down what success would look like

Before building anything:

> This is worth doing if it takes under X minutes including review, and the output needs no more than a small edit three times out of four.

A stated target is what lets you judge the finished workflow honestly rather than by how much effort it took to build.

Mini practice

Fill the selection sheet for three candidate tasks.

Choose one, and write the success statement.

Everything in the rest of this module applies to that task.
