Module 08 Summary

What this module established

A plan is a table you can check off: task, output file, evidence. A step with no output is not a step, and stating what is out of scope is what stops a descriptive report acquiring a model in its last week.

Carry forward

• Run the six stages in order and print a count at each one. Those counts are what let a reader judge the result, and none of them is recoverable from the final table.
• In Quarto the prose and the code live in one file, so every number in the text comes from an inline expression and nothing can drift.
• Reproducibility is tested, not asserted. Delete the outputs, restart R, run everything, compare.
• This course describes the rows in front of you. Whether a difference would appear again is inference, and that is the next course.
