Primary-source register
Checked on 2026-10-14. These pages were opened during preparation to verify language/API details and accessibility guidance. They are learning references, not copied lesson text. All narratives, scenarios, traces, exercises, code and instructional diagrams were authored for this package. No source passage or documentation example is reproduced. Short descriptions below are original paraphrases; each entry is intentionally brief.
The course teaches stable beginner features. A checked source date is not a guarantee that every browser behaves identically. Platform and accessibility verification remain separate in qa.html.
01. MDN: What is JavaScript?
Used in module(s) 01. Checked 2026-10-14. Browser scripting context, external script loading and local testing. Used to verify setup/API claims; original project examples.
02. MDN: Grammar and types
Used in module(s) 02. Checked 2026-10-14. Basic declaration and value terminology; technical reference rather than copied curriculum.
03. MDN: Expressions and operators
Used in module(s) 02–03. Checked 2026-10-14. Assignment versus comparison, arithmetic and logical-operator semantics.
04. MDN: const
Used in module(s) 02, 05. Checked 2026-10-14. Binding reassignment differs from mutation of an associated object.
05. MDN: Number.isFinite
Used in module(s) 02. Checked 2026-10-14. Finite-number predicate used after explicit conversion.
06. MDN: Control flow and error handling
Used in module(s) 03, 08–09. Checked 2026-10-14. Branching and exception-handling terminology.
07. MDN: Functions

08. MDN: Indexed collections
Used in module(s) 05. Checked 2026-10-14. Array indexing and collection methods.
09. MDN: Working with objects
Used in module(s) 05. Checked 2026-10-14. Object properties and reference semantics.
10. MDN: Array.filter
Used in module(s) 05. Checked 2026-10-14. New result array and callback selection behavior.
11. MDN: Node.textContent
Used in module(s) 06. Checked 2026-10-14. Literal-text assignment versus parsing HTML; limits of the recommendation explained in lesson.
12. MDN: addEventListener

13. MDN: status role
Used in module(s) 06. Checked 2026-10-14. Polite status semantics; no claim of completed assistive-technology testing.
14. W3C WAI: Button Pattern
Used in module(s) 06, 10. Checked 2026-10-14. Toggle-button label stability, pressed state and focus guidance. Checked after independent review identified a needed correction.
15. MDN: Client-side form validation
Used in module(s) 07. Checked 2026-10-14. Native constraints and the need for separate server-side checks in a real service.
16. MDN: form.reportValidity

17. MDN: form submit event
Used in module(s) 07. Checked 2026-10-14. Submit is attached to the form; normal constraint validation can prevent it from firing.
18. MDN: input.setCustomValidity
Used in module(s) 07. Checked 2026-10-14. Nonempty custom error blocks validity; empty string clears it.

Used in module(s) 10. Checked 2026-10-14. Storage setItem failure and per-key removeItem behavior.
Original project and assets
Harbor Together is a fictional community organization shared with the companion HTML/CSS course. Its event names, locations, date-only values and capacities are synthetic. examples/00-static is an original companion-course baseline copied into this package. The four instructional SVGs are original vector diagrams with title/description text and adjacent textual explanations. No third-party images, tracking scripts, fonts or external runtime dependencies are bundled.
Editorial decisions, not source claims
The sequence, timing estimates, exercise design, six-checkpoint capstone, 20-point rubric, fictional-data policy and storage-key convention are course design choices. Timing and passing thresholds still need learner-pilot calibration. Documentation verification does not replace independent pedagogy review or real-browser testing.
