Practice 06 · A form that tells the truth
Use only Sample learner and the supplied fictional choices.
A. Trace and verify
In checkpoint 06, submit an empty participant, then the exact Sample learner value with two practice places. Record the error or confirmation and focused element each time. Edit the participant after success and reset. Explain how values, errors and confirmation each change. Inspect Network and verify that no form submission is sent.
B. Repair stale success
A form displays “Practice passed” after a valid check but leaves that message visible when a field changes. Explain why it is misleading. Repair the change handler without clearing unrelated field values. Then explain why a controlled input reset must change React state rather than only calling the DOM reset method.
C. Transfer
Add a controlled checkbox labeled “I understand this is practice only” to a copy of the form. Require it before showing the practice confirmation. Include an associated error, sensible focus handling, reset behavior and an automated rule test or a reproducible manual case. Do not add real contact details or a network request.
Completion evidence: four-state form journey, no-submit observation, stale-feedback repair and accessible checkbox behavior. Separate solutions.
