Module 6 Activity: Research Support Note
Activity ID: AIT-M06-A01 Estimated active time: 35-50 minutes
Purpose
Create a safe research support note with source plan, claim checks, and uncertainty.
Use safe, fictional or public material throughout. Nothing in this activity requires a real name, account, record or figure.
Activity Steps
Part 1: Choose a safe research question.
Choose something you could actually look up. A question with no findable answer makes the verification step meaningless.
Part 2: Write search terms and source types.
Separate the two. Search terms are vocabulary; source types are where the answer would live, and each is authoritative about different things.
Part 3: Create five claims or possible findings.
Write them as claims, not conclusions. Each one should be checkable against a specific kind of source.
Part 4: Mark what source would verify each claim.
Name the source that would settle each claim, then mark whether you found it, could not find it, or did not look.
Part 5: Write a short decision note with uncertainty and next checks.
Say what is known, what is uncertain, and what must be checked next. Do not upgrade a single mention into a pattern.
What good looks like
A strong response has claims traceable to named sources, and is honest about how many reached 'source found'.
