Module 1 checkpoint

Module 1 Checkpoint: Statistical Questions and Data Claims

Scenario

A colleague says "our customers prefer the new layout" and shows you a table of 40 responses collected from people who clicked a feedback link.

Questions

  1. Rewrite their statement as a question that could actually be answered.
  2. What is the population they are claiming about, and what population did the 40 responses come from?
  3. Name one reason the people who clicked the link might differ from everyone else.
  4. What would you need to know before repeating this claim to someone else?
  5. Write the strongest version of the claim that the 40 responses do support.

Pass Standard

You pass when your rewritten question names a population and a measure, and your supported claim is visibly narrower than the original.
