AI Tools for Everyday Work / Module 3

Module 3

Module 3 Activity: Output Review Workshop

Activity ID: AIT-M03-A01 Estimated active time: 35-50 minutes

Purpose

Practise reviewing one AI-style output for facts, missing context, tone, privacy, bias, and final decision.

Use safe, fictional or public material throughout. Nothing in this activity requires a real name, account, record or figure.

Activity Steps

Part 1: Choose or use a safe sample AI output.

Pick something you can share. A generated paragraph about a public topic works; anything with a real name in it does not.

Part 2: Highlight facts that need checking.

Underline every name, date, number, rule and comparison. Beside each, write where it came from — your source, or nowhere you can point to.

Part 3: List missing context and assumptions.

List what a reader would need to know that is not here, and what the output assumed in order to sound complete.

Part 4: Mark tone or audience issues.

Read it once as the recipient. Mark anything too strong, too casual, or more apologetic than the situation warrants.

Part 5: Check privacy, bias, and unfair assumptions.

Mark any sentence that identifies a person, or that guesses at motive, ability or character. These come out rather than get softened.

Part 6: Choose keep, edit, verify first, ask again, or reject.

Name one decision and say what specifically drove it. If you chose edit, say how much you would be changing.

What good looks like

A strong response names what is wrong rather than how the output felt, and ends in one decision with a reason.
