SQL

SQL for Data Analysis and AI

Aabha AI Academy • Version 2026-10-14.1 • PostgreSQL edition

Start by opening index.html in your browser. The guide is self-contained and works offline after extracting the ZIP. It contains a proper syllabus, ordered teaching, visual explanations, worked examples and independent practice. It is a reading guide, not an embedded SQL editor.

  1. Read the syllabus first and check the prerequisites.
  2. Follow SETUP.md for the tested local practice route.
  3. Work through modules 1–13 in order. Read, predict, run, explain and then solve.
  4. Attempt each exercise before opening the separate solutions.html or SOLUTIONS.md.
  5. Complete the capstone and use ASSESSMENT.md to review it.

The practice engine is PGlite 0.5.9, which reports PostgreSQL 18.6 compiled to WebAssembly. You do not need a PostgreSQL server or a paid service. Node and npm must be installed separately, and the first dependency installation needs internet access. Subsequent reading and local queries can run offline. See the exact tested scope and limitations in VALIDATION.md.

Contents: - SYLLABUS.md: sequence, learning outcomes, workload and assessment - COURSEBOOK.md and lessons/: complete editable teaching narrative - index.html: readable offline course, with five accessible SVG diagrams - SETUP.md: step-by-step practice and optional native PostgreSQL route - DATA_DICTIONARY.md and data/: definitions and synthetic source CSVs - sql/00_setup.sql: creates the isolated course schema and inserts fixture data - sql/examples/: worked queries, including clearly labelled error demonstrations - sql/exercises/: 26 starter files; hints and full briefs are in the lessons - sql/solutions/ and SOLUTIONS.md: separate runnable answers and reasoning - tools/run.mjs: fresh-database command-line practice runner - tools/validate.mjs and validation/: reproducible checks and expected outputs - ASSESSMENT.md: capstone brief, rubric and completion criteria - SOURCES.md: current public outline review and primary technical references

This package is course content prepared for review. It does not publish a website, create learner accounts, operate on a learner's existing database, grant a qualification or award a badge. The synthetic data is supplied solely for practice; it contains no real customer information.

Optional editorial rebuild

The HTML and Markdown are editable source. To rebuild the offline guide after editing lessons or supporting Markdown, use Python 3.10+ in a separate virtual environment, install requirements-build.txt, then run python tools/build_guide.py. Python and Markdown are editorial dependencies only; learners need neither for the Node SQL lab. The builder regenerates COURSEBOOK.md from the numbered lesson files, which are the authoritative teaching sources.
