Module 10 Activity: Prompt Template Library
Activity ID: AIT-M10-A01 Estimated active time: 35-50 minutes
Purpose
Create a small personal library of reusable, safe prompt templates.
Use safe, fictional or public material throughout. Nothing in this activity requires a real name, account, record or figure.
Activity Steps
Part 1: Choose four repeated task types.
Pick from what you actually repeat, not what would be interesting to template.
Part 2: Create one short template for each.
Twelve lines is a good target. A template nobody reads before using is not a template.
Part 3: Add placeholders for safe context.
Make each placeholder say what belongs in it. [CONTEXT] invites you to skip it; [WHAT CHANGED AND WHEN] does not.
Part 4: Add review criteria and do-not-use conditions.
The do-not-use line is the safety rule. Without it, a template gets applied to the first task that looks similar.
Part 5: Write one maintenance rule for improving templates later.
Say what would trigger a change — for instance, one line added after each significant mistake, dated.
What good looks like
A strong response has four templates you would actually use, each naming what it is not for.
