AI Tools for Everyday Work / Module 10

Module 10

Practice: create a personal prompt template library

Unit ID: AIT-M10-U05 Estimated active time: 15-20 minutes

The main idea

A small useful library is better than a large unused one.

Four templates you use weekly beat twenty you have to search through. Searching is what stops people using a library at all.

Why this matters

A library also needs pruning. Templates for work you no longer do make the useful ones harder to find.

Safe example

The first library has writing, summary, research, and planning templates.

Four, matching the four task families. That is enough to cover most everyday work.

Better working habit

Include when to use and when not to use each template.

The second line is what stops a template being applied to a task it was never built for.

What to watch for

Do not store private examples inside reusable templates.

Templates get shared and copied. Anything in one should be safe to send to a colleague.

Mini practice

Create four reusable prompt templates with review criteria.

Then use each once and delete anything that did not earn its place.

Check yourself

Before moving on, answer:

  • Do I actually use each of these?
  • Does each say when not to use it?
  • Is everything in them safe to share?
