What This Course Helps You Do
Unit ID: AIT-M01-U00 Estimated active time: 10-15 minutes
Let us begin
This course is about using AI tools in normal daily work.
Not advanced coding. Not building machine learning models. Not becoming loyal to one product.
The goal is simpler and more useful:
Learn how to ask clearly, review carefully, and decide responsibly.
If you can write a message, read a document, attend a meeting, make a simple checklist, or plan a small task, this course is for you.
What everyday AI tools can help with
AI tools can often help you:
- turn rough notes into a cleaner draft;
- shorten long text;
- create a first outline;
- list possible questions;
- prepare a meeting agenda;
- organise action items;
- rewrite a message for a different audience;
- explain a table in plain language;
- create a checklist;
- compare options before you decide.
These are support tasks. The tool helps you think, draft, organise, or review.
It does not become responsible for the final result.
What this course will not promise
This course will not promise that AI is always correct.
It will not teach you to paste private information into any tool. It will not say that one tool is the best forever. It will not replace legal, medical, financial, academic, or workplace judgement.
AI tools are changing quickly. So we will focus on habits that last:
- define the task;
- give useful context;
- ask for the right format;
- review the output;
- verify important claims;
- protect private information;
- decide what to use, edit, check, or reject.
A simple example
Imagine you need to send a follow-up email after a meeting.
A weak request is:
Write the email.
A better request is:
Help me draft a polite follow-up email for a small project meeting. The audience is my team. The purpose is to confirm the next steps. Use a clear and friendly tone. Keep it under 150 words. Include a short action list. If anything is missing, ask me first.
The second request gives the tool more useful direction.
But even then, you must review the result. The tool may invent a decision, use the wrong tone, miss an important person, or make the action list too strong.
Your first habit
In this course, every AI-assisted task has two parts:
- The prompt or request.
- The review.
Do not skip the second part.
Quick reflection
Write three everyday tasks where AI might help you.
For each task, write one sentence:
- What help do I want?
- What must I check before using the result?
Keep this list. You will use it in the module activity.
