Assessment 1 Meaningful HTML Answer guide

Compare these references after your own attempt. You can read them at any time; they do not record a live model or vendor run.

Each answer is a scoring guide, not the only acceptable wording. Score the technical conclusion (2), explanation (2), and requested evidence or clarity (1). A correct guess without reasoning earns at most the conclusion points.

Question 1

Use h1 for the page topic, h2 for Events, and h3 for each event. Explain the nested topic relationship and usefulness for navigation or assistive-technology heading lists. Full credit requires meaning rather than merely “h1 is bigger.”

Question 2

A correct example is <a href="../index.html">Back to community events</a>. The ../ leaves pages; index.html selects the sibling of pages in the parent. Give credit for descriptive text and an explanation tied to the stated location.

Question 3

The photograph needs concise alt communicating the important route, plus nearby text for detailed directions if needed. The decorative leaf can use empty alt. A filename or “photo” alone does not supply the route. Explain that the image’s job determines the alternative.

Question 4

Make label for and input id match, preserving uniqueness and any other references. A visible associated label remains available while typing and exposes the control name. A placeholder is not a reliable replacement and matching physical placement alone is insufficient.

Question 5

The browser checks the email-format constraint and any required rule, not whether the mailbox exists, belongs to a person, or can receive mail. A successful local demo also does not create a registration. Full credit clearly separates syntax from verification.

Question 6

Evidence should identify a unique id and matching href, show the intended section is reached, and record a local practice-result destination with no control values. The no-name design excludes values from the entry list. Do not award evidence points for an unrun claim or for a real-data submission.

Use the result

For a missed question, return to the related lesson and apply the concept to a different event or different numeric values. Keep your first attempt so you can see what changed in your reasoning.
