Verification and remaining checks

Version 2026-10-14.1 · Checked 14 October 2026. This page distinguishes actual package checks from checks still needed. The course is ready as a reviewable teaching-content package; it is not a claim of completed public integration, cross-browser certification, or a human pilot.

Completed checks

  • Independent reviewer read all ten narrative lessons, all thirty task/solution pairs, all eighteen assessment answers, and the capstone/rubric/handoff. Missing hand-build transitions, exercise inconsistencies, ambiguous form wording, and a narrow-reader text risk were corrected.
  • The supplied Python 3 standard-library checker inspected every packaged HTML file for language, title, viewport, duplicate ids, explicit control labels, ARIA references, unexpected scripts, and local link/asset/form destinations.
  • All local references and HTML fragments resolved. The practice form controls have no name attributes and point only to the local result page. These are source-level checks, not observed browser-submission tests.
  • Every SVG parsed as XML and includes a title and description. All eleven distinct original SVGs were rasterized with Inkscape and visually inspected together for missing text, overlap, and clipping.
  • CSS brace balance and the generated audio duration were checked. These are limited sanity checks, not a full CSS validator or listening evaluation.
  • The reviewer calculated declared palette contrast: body text roughly 10.8–12.1:1 across the intended surfaces, links roughly 7.6–8.3:1, button text about 8.2:1, control borders at least 3.2:1, and the focus color at least 6.2:1. These calculations use source color pairs; rendered interaction states still need checking.
  • Versions 08 and 09 and the capstone reference intentionally have equivalent final application code. The JavaScript handoff was checked against the actual ids, classes, category values, and form boundary.

Browser verification is still pending

Local browser execution was blocked by the task environment’s socket restrictions; a separate allowed launch path failed in the environment. The available cloud browser permits HTTP/HTTPS and refused local file URLs. No workaround was used to bypass that restriction. Consequently, no rendered HTML-page screenshots, viewport tests, browser form submissions, keyboard journeys, or zoom behavior are claimed as completed.

The SVG raster inspection above is not a substitute for testing the complete page in a browser. The reference’s accessibility-oriented structure and source contrast checks are useful evidence, but do not establish WCAG conformance.

Other untested areas

Windows/macOS editor setup steps, physical phones, Firefox/Safari or another browser engine, screen-reader reading and form announcements, high-contrast/forced-color modes, print preview, hearing/listening review of the optional audio, and a human beginner pilot were not run. No live deployment, production form service, account setup, or website integration was performed.

Reproduce the static checks

If Python 3 is available, run qa/verify.py from this extracted package. It uses only the standard library and exits with a nonzero status if a checked condition fails. Its JSON output lists the number of files and references checked, along with errors. It does not send files to a service.

Next acceptance step

Use the concrete browser and integration checklist in an authorized environment before public course release. Keep the content package separate from the existing website until integration is explicitly undertaken.
